If your RB26 or RB25 just isn't enough for you, you're probably considering a stroker kit.  The Brian Crower stroker kit basically makes for a RB28 or 2.8 L displacement engine.  Using a billet crankshaft, forged conrods and pistons you'll be aiming for greater performance and reliability.

So why consider a stroker kit for your RB26DETT or RB25DET? There are several reasons to consider:
  1. More displacement.  Increasing your engine size is one of the quickest ways to generate additional horse power and torque across the entire powerband.
  2. The strength of these components.  The RB26 and RB25 engines use casted pistons which are the weakest link in the factory rotating assembly.  These components were intended to be used in 300 HP applications.  Therefore, by upgrading to a billet stroker kit you'll be replacing them.
  3. Replacing 25+ year old parts.  Let's be honest, used components probably seen their share of abuse over the years.  Considering the amount of investment into the engine build process, do you want to place your bets on that old crankshaft that has been through at least one engine failure?
